Mr Peabody and his boy Sherman was a fine introduction to time travel

Oh, did I love those segments. They treated kids like we were actually smart.

I know this is not the self-help room, but..........I am so deeply conflicted about time travel it isn't even funny. My first toe dip into it was A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court by Mark Twain, and I fell in love like anything. Maybe that was so well done that anything that comes after is just.........lame? Then Star Trek Original Series played with it somewhat and I was ambivalent, but maybe liked it because Captain Kirk? But then, Time Traveler's Wife and Outlander (books or show) I just can't, and I'm impatient with them. I'd welcome any insights into what is my major malfunction on this topic. As for what I'm reading, it's Good Without God: What a Billion Nonreligious People Do Believe by Greg Epstein. I'm enjoying it greatly.

Hi John...I do enjoy a good time travel story and have put This Time Tomorrow on my library hold list. I am currently #329 on 82 copies. While I'm waiting for it to come in, I sure would enjoy hearing about you and Mrs. Biblioracle's first meeting!

Actually, I'm finishing up The Joy Luck Club right now. I must be the very last person on earth to read it, and I don't know why I waited so long. It's wonderful.

Exceptional piece today, John! I awoke this Sunday morning to overcast skies and very light rain, a rare occurrence here in Northern California, and quietly settled into a cup of coffee and your musings about time travel and alternative histories. Your pondering about Michael Jordan is perfect, given the battle that has just started between the Warriors and the Celtics! What if Steph Curry hadn't ended up with the Warriors? They'd still be in Oakland!

As I recall even at the 7th pick some thought Curry was drafted too high, but considering the guy in front of him, Jonny Flynn, played a total of 163 games in the NBA in his career, missing on Curry may be as big as the teams who skipped Jordan. (Though Houston did get Hakeem at #1, so not a bad pick there.) You also wonder if Jordan would've become a global superstar had he wound up in Portland instead of Chicago, though he would've been closer to Nike.
