I’ve been attending the Zoom meetings sponsored by the News Guild, hoping to hear some encouraging info. Unfortunately, Alden seems poised to take over the Tribune. For years, I’ve been getting the paper delivered 7 days a week. God forbid that it turns into a conservative rag!

I remember only too well the demise of the Chicago Daily News. Since then, I have relied on the Tribune and the Sun Times for in-depth, factual information about our city, our nation and our world. I am not a billionaire or even a “thousandaire”. So , please Ms. Billionaire, please help us to keep the Chicago Tribune as a beacon of information, facts and humanity. I appeal in the memory of my immigrant grandparents who read four newspapers (one of them the Tribune) even though they had little formal education. But they valued information about their city and world to make them better and more responsible citizens. We need that more then ever.

I read the print version of the Sunday Tribune from cover to cover every week and your Biblioracle section is one of my favorites. Gotta' say that's some pretty sloppy work coming from such an esteemed newspaper. And it's in a section about books and writing, fer Pete's sake!! I feel your pain...
