I like The Field’s album “From here we go sublime” ... minimalist techno built on repetitive samples, songs that vary in length. No words!

This is a sound formula for good listening. I can handle lyrics in come cases, but by and large I prefer instrumental background music.

Thanks for the Rec! I've seen Oreo around, but never picked it up. Now I will for sure.

For reading music, I'm not too picky, but I love Anna Thorvaldsdottir (the enitre AEQUA album, but especially "Spectra") and Caleb Burhans ("Contritus" off his Past Lives album is my vote for a perfect string quartet piece).

A Little Life is "a book that will colonize your brain & leave you shaken. If that sounds like the kind of experience you enjoy as a reader, I highly recommend it, but it’s not a book for everybody."

Perfectly said. One of my all-time favorites that I recommend to almost no one.

I offer a warning to everyone I recommend A Little Life to. Most plow through it, but some do regret not heeding it. Even that speaks to the book's power.
